Members of St. Mary of the Angels Parish in Wien turn out for a Mass to celebrate the parish’s 150th anniversary on the 800th anniversary of the death of St. Francis of Assisi. Franciscan friars founded the parish in 1876 in what then was part of the newly created Diocese of St. Joseph. Generations later, the unabashedly rural parish retains its youth and vitality.
