Hundreds of people from throughout Missouri and beyond take part in the ninth annual Midwest March for Life from St. Peter Church through downtown Jefferson City to the State Capitol on Feb. 2. The event gave people who could not make it to the national March for Life in Washington, D.C., an opportunity to stand up for the sanctity of all human life, particularly preborn babies. This year’s theme was “Always Vigilant.” Speakers urged participants to get active in combatting legalized abortion and the societal mentality that allows abortion-on-demand to dictate policy in many parts of the country. Representatives from a panoply of life-affirming organizations and ministries answered questions, handed out information and signed up volunteers. The president of Students for Life America spoke to young people about what they could do to advance the cause of life among their peers. The day’s activities concluded with Mass in St. Peter Church for the Feast of the Presentation of the Presentation of the Lord. (118 photos)
