PHOTOS: CHRISTpower retreat Eucharistic Procession

The participants and organizers of this year's CHRISTpower retreat for high-school teens, take part in a procession of the Most Blessed Sacrament through the neighborhood around Helias Catholic High School in Jefferson City.

Led by Father Daniel Merz carrying the monstrance containing the Blessed Sacrament, they stopped at temporary altars of repose in the yards of several nearby homes.

Teen retreat participants took turns carrying the canopy over the Blessed Sacrament and proclaiming readings at each of the stops.

The procession concluded with Benediction in the Helias Catholic High School Chapel.

The theme for this year's weeklong CHRISTpower retreat, the 15th to be held in the diocese, was "Into the Wilderness." It was a combination of service, prayer, faith formation and Christian community.
