FREY — People Need to Know

Posted

For many years now, I have been trying to live my Catholic faith to the best of my ability.

Have I messed up? Yes. Did I often use my own free will, ignore God, and refuse His Will for my life? Yes.

Have I sinned, picked myself back up, and then run back to Jesus and His forgiveness and mercy? Yes.

Life is hard, and we are broken human beings living in this fallen world.

Life beats us up, whether through faults of our own or faults of others; however, Jesus is with us through it all. Jesus understands and loves us immensely. He is always with us.

When I take the time to truly reflect on the thought that God is with me every moment of my life, I feel overwhelmed with emotions.

I feel happy that God has me in the palm of His hand, yet I can also feel sad and disappointed in myself that I sin and fail Him. I can have every emotion in between, whether it be nervous knowing God is with me, angry that God is close to me, or super excited that I can just talk to Him because He is right there.

God has created me in His likeness and in His image. God has created you in His likeness and in His image. God has created each of us and our emotions. God gave us His Son, Jesus, to know us and love us. He loves every part of us.

As Catholic Christians, we have all the beautiful things of our faith that help us get close and remain close to Jesus. We follow Sacred Scripture, Sacred Tradition, and the Magisterium. These three together are The Three Pillars of the Church. They are known as the Deposits of the Faith (depositum fidei).

To carry out our faith fervently, we need lifelong learning and love of these Deposits of Faith.

I have been trying my best to live the Catholic faith fervently, but sometimes it does seem daunting.

I have come to the realization that God always wants me to live fully for Him, but recently, He sent me a simple message through one of my children.

I am the mother of three children, the youngest of whom is in the sixth grade. My husband and I purchased each of our children a T-shirt last year, and it simply says, “Jesus Loves You.”

I noticed that all my kids have worn their shirts, but my youngest one wears her shirt all the time. One day, I mentioned to her that people might think she doesn’t own any other shirts, and was there a reason why she was wearing this one so much?

She, without any hesitation, said, “Because people need to know.”

Wow, what an amazing moment of childlike faith. Jesus spoke right through her to me. Jesus loves you, and people need to know.

Yes, Jesus Loves You!

The Easter Season of 2026 is upon us. Jesus’s death and resurrection were for you!

I challenge you to live your faith fervently and also truly believe, with childlike faith, that Jesus loves You!

Jesus loves you. Jesus is with you. Go forward in faith and share with others the love of our Lord because they need to know.
