Cursillo: ‘A Short Course in Christianity’

Posted

Attending a Cursillo weekend provides an opportunity to step away from your daily routine to grow your faith. Rooted in prayer, community, and the grace of the Holy Spirit, the weekend enables participants to encounter Christ in a fresh and personal way.

Through talks, reflection, worship, and fellowship, Cursillo helps people see how faith can be lived with greater purpose and joy for themselves and their families, and in other environments.

The goal of Cursillo isn’t simply to inspire for a few days — it’s to strengthen one’s walk with Christ for the long term. Participants return home with practical tools for daily spiritual growth and a supportive community that continues well beyond the weekend.

Many describe the experience as a turning point that deepens their relationship with God, guides their family life, and enriches their involvement in parish activities.

Whether you’re seeking renewal, clarity or a deeper connection with your faith community, a Cursillo weekend offers a meaningful path forward. It’s an opportunity to encounter God’s love in a powerful way and to carry that grace into your “Fourth Day” ... the rest of your life.

The Jefferson City Diocese Cursillo Movement has four weekends planned for 2026:

  • Men’s Weekend #160 (at Fr. Tolton Regional Catholic High School, Columbia) — July 9-12;
  • Women’s Weekend #161 (at Fr. Tolton Regional Catholic High School, Columbia) — July 16-19;
  • Men’s Weekend #162 (at Sacred Heart Parish, Eldon) — Oct. 8-11;
  • Women’s Weekend #163 (at Sacred Heart Parish, Eldon) — Oct. 22-25.
