UPDATED — Divine Mercy observances, April 28

April 28 is the Second Sunday of Easter and the Feast of Divine Mercy. On the day, the Church will celebrate the great fount of mercy flowing from Jesus’ heart, as revealed to a Polish contemplative nun, St. Faustina Kowalska, in a series of private revelations in the 1930s and recorded in her diary. Here are some of the observances planned for the Feast of Divine Mercy in parishes in the Jefferson City diocese. Laurie — Sacrament of reconciliation, 1:30 p.m., Divine Mercy Chaplet and short prayer service, 3 p.m., St. Patrick Church, followed by cake and ice cream in St. Joseph Hall

Linn — Divine Mercy prayer service, 11:15 a.m., St. George Church
