PHOTOS: Rite of Election and Call to Continuing Conversion

Bishop W. Shawn McKnight welcomed people from parishes all over the diocese who are preparing to be initiated into the Church at Easter, during the Rite of Election and Call to Continuing Conversion on Feb. 18 in the Cathedral of St. Joseph in Jefferson City. After exchanging a sign of peace with all who are seeking sacraments of initiation, he inscribed the names of those seeking baptism into Book of the Elect. He urged all who are preparing for baptism, First Holy Communion and confirmation to spend the rest of Lent pursuing repentance and deeper conversion with the prayerful support of Catholics throughout the world.
