Father Gregory Meystrik, pastor of St. Aloysius parish in Argyle and diocesan moderator of the curia, offered Sunday afternoon Mass for the SSM St. Mary's Auxiliary on the Third Sunday of Advent in the atrium of SSM St. Mary's Hospital in Jefferson City. He also blessed the Tree of Life for Christmas. The tree is decorated with stars upon which hospital employees and volunteers wrote their prayers and wishes for the community. Drawing upon the charism of the Franciscan Sisters of Mary who founded the hospital, Fr. Meystrik stated his firm conviction that through any changes that take place in the governance of the hospital, the healing presence of Christ will endure and prevail.
