Jon Leonetti (www.jonleonetti.com), a renowned Catholic speaker and author, will lead a mission titled “Surge of the Heart” from Sunday through Tuesday, April 8 -10, at St. Peter parish in Jefferson City.

Mr. Leonetti will lead evening sessions at 6:30 p.m. on all three nights in St. Peter Church, 216 Broadway St., near the State Capitol.

He will also lead a morning session at 9 a.m. on Monday, April 9, in the church.

“Surge of the Heart” (www.SurgeoftheHeart.com) is a live, three evening, deep-dive into the truth and beauty of Catholic Christianity. It is designed to create within the parish meaningful momentum for Jesus Christ and His Catholic Church.

“Surge of the Heart is an evening you will laugh, grow, be inspired and never forget!” the mission’s organizers stated.

Evening topics will include: “Who is God and why does it matter?” “An Outline of the Lives of Some of the Most Fascinating and Holy People Ever to Walk the Planet”; and “Living in the Authentic Relationship with Jesus in the Messiness of Everyday Life.”

All are welcome and encouraged to attend any or all of the sessions.

Prelude music will be provided from 6:10 to 6:30 p.m. each evening, featuring Janna Merciel Volmert on Sunday, Enrique Castro on Monday evening, and Bob and Janice Phillips on Tuesday.

Childcare will be provided free of charge in the evenings. Call (573) 636-8159 by April 5 to reserve childcare.

The parish will host a kickoff potluck dinner at 4:39 p.m. on Sunday, April 8, in the Selinger Centre next to the church. Meat will be provided. Attendees are asked to bring a side dish to share.

Mr. Leonetti, author of Your God Is Too Boring, insists that “faith without prayer is a hobby.”

“There is a pervading ideology in our culture that something other than God will fulfill us. In our hearts, we know better,” he stated. “It’s time to rediscover the cross of Jesus Christ and the beauty of His Catholic Church and be set free.”
