Bishop W. Shawn McKnight has appointed Jake Seifert to serve as director of development for the Diocese of Jefferson City, effective Aug. 15.

Mr. Seifert is currently the director of mission advancement for Catholic Charities of Central & Northern Missouri.

He brings a decade of experience in development work, including having served the diocese from 2008-2012.

“I feel extremely blessed to have the opportunity to further serve the Diocese of Jefferson City in this role,” Mr. Seifert said. “As I reflect on the journey which I have taken over the past 10 years of working in the diocese, I believe from God’s grace we receive His gifts, we accept them with gratitude, and we share them generously.”

Mr. Seifert will be responsible for creating and implementing a comprehensive development program that will effectively support the Strategic Stewardship Plan of the diocese.

“Jake’s enthusiasm and passionate understanding of God’s call to each of us to be stewards of God’s gifts will assist all of us, I believe, in growing in our understanding of our Christian call to stewardship,” Bishop McKnight said. “I look forward to working with him as we build and strengthen God’s Church here in central and northern Missouri.”

Mr. Seifert, who attended St. Peter Interparish School and Helias Catholic High School in Jefferson City, holds a master’s degree in business administration from William Woods University in Fulton and a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Lincoln University in Jefferson City.

He is a member of the board of directors for the Central Missouri Stop Human Trafficking Coalition and the Superintendents Community Advisory Board for the Columbia Public Schools.
