Each year, the Pomme de Terre Lake Area Chamber of Commerce hosts a duck race on the river below the dam during the Fourth of July Celebration.
Area businesses purchase ducks and then decorate them as creatively and stylishly as they desire.
This year’s entry from St. Bernadette Parish in Hermitage is Moses.
Rumor has it he is going to part the waters for a safe and quick trip.
Parishioners, Linda Lewis and Jane Klenke designed and decorated Moses and Jax, which is the Toys for Kids entry.
Pictured here in the hands of Father Benjamin Nwosu, pastor of the Hermitage parish and of St. Ann Parish in Warsaw and the Mission of Ss. Peter and Paul in Cole Camp, are Moses and Jax after receiving a blessing from Fr. Ben for a safe and timely trip through the treacherous waters of the Pomme de Terre river.
