Catholic recording artist Donna Cori Gibson will present a concert on Sunday, March 10 in St. Joseph School gym, at 123 E. Main St. in Westphalia. The concert will start at 6 p.m. and light refreshments will be served afterward. Admission is free, but a free-will collection will be taken-up with proceeds to be used for future events at the parish.

‘Keeping a Mary spirit’
Ms. Gibson, has been sharing her songs, sung prayers, and meditations for 22 years. She is a repeating guest at many conferences and events from coast to coast. She can be heard in interview and song on Catholic radio stations across the nation and worldwide on EWTN Global Catholic Network.

“God does give us our heart’s desire, just not in the way we often believe it to be nor at the time we think it should materialize,” stated Ms. Gibson on her website www.donnacorigibson.com.
She uncovers Catholic treasures hidden in the prayers of the saints, as well as important passages from Scripture, and puts them to music. It is a unique gift which is only enhanced by the power and beauty of her voice.
Her music is focused on prayer and explaining the truths of the Catholic Church with Scripture. Songs include word-for-word prayers from the Bible and well known prayers of the Church. Setting prayers to music is her way of helping brothers and sisters in the Lord to “Pray to the Spirit on all occasions with all kind of prayers and requests” (Phil. 6:18).

After 20 years of sharing Catholic Music, God has called Ms. Gibson to add being a speaker to her travels. For the last three years, she has been leading women’s retreats and Days of Recollection with the theme “Keeping a Mary Spirit Throughout a Martha Day.” Since becoming a single mom and having to raise her children on her own, she shares life lessons of how to make time for prayer and ways to stay at the feet of Jesus no matter what you are doing or where life’s necessities may call you.

Way of the Cross
Ms. Gibson will be performing the “Way of the Cross.” “The Stations of the Cross will impact you like never before. You will really ‘experience’ them. Each meditation on the 14 stations is in song and video form. Her beautiful voice and the deeply moving video scenes shown on a large screen, will allow you to be drawn into the stations like never before. People are often moved to tears by this concert. Attending this concert on the First Sunday of lent is sure to help give you added strength with any Lenten resolutions and help to make 2019 your ‘best lent ever.’ Don’t miss this wonderful opportunity!” organizers stated on St. Joseph parish’s website (www.stjosephwestphalia.org).

Relic display
A small traveling relic display will also be on display at the school the day of the concert.
Dr. Gregory Mary Thompson, Director of the Marian Association and Eucharistic Apostle of Divine Mercy, will set up a display of various relics near the gym, which will be available for viewing one hour before and after the concert.
Dr. Thompson is also a Marian Helper with the Marians of the Immaculate Conception at the National Shrine of Divine Mercy. Dr. Thompson has spoken at conferences from San Diego to Boston, and is now focusing in Missouri.
He has organized Marian Family Conferences in three of the four dioceses in Missouri, and has held parish missions, along with speaking at Catholic schools with Eucharistic Miracles and Relics.
