Daily Offering — Ofrecimiento Diario

Some of Bishop-elect W. Shawn McKnight’s earliest memories are of praying the following Daily Offering prayer with his grandparents before breakfast each morning. He asks the people of the Jefferson City diocese to join him in praying this prayer, rooted in devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, patroness of the Jefferson City diocese, every day.

O Jesus, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary,

I offer You my prayers, works, joys, and sufferings

of this day in union with the Holy Sacrifice of the

Mass throughout the world. I offer them for all the

intentions of Your Sacred Heart: the salvation of souls,

reparation for sin, and the reunion of all Christians.

I offer them for the intentions of our bishops and

of all Apostles of Prayer, and in particular for those

recommended by our Holy Father this month.

Oh Jesús, a través del Inmaculado Corazón de

María, te ofrezco mis oraciones, obras, alegrías

y sufrimientos de este día en unión con el Santo

Sacrificio de la Misa en todo el mundo. Ofrezco esto

por todas las intenciones de tu Sagrado Corazón:

la salvación de las almas, la reparación por los

pecados y la unión de todos los cristianos. También

lo ofrezco por las intenciones de nuestros obispos y

las del Apostolado de la Oración, en particular por la

intención mensual de nuestro Santo Padre.
