PHOTOS: Bishop dedicates Gabriel House in Brinktown

Former rectory at Holy Guardian Angels is now a house of prayer

Posted

Bishop W. Shawn McKnight traveled to Brinktown the evening of March 22 to dedicate Holy Guardian Angels parish’s house of prayer, Gabriel House. Volunteers from the parish shared the work of refurbishing the 1950s-vintage building, formerly the parish rectory, to make it suitable for small Catholic retreats and meetings. They incorporated much of the spiritual artwork from the former rectory into the bright, colorful, prayerful space. After the blessing, Bishop McKnight offered Mass next door in Holy Guardian Angels Church, with Father Matthew Flatley, pastor of the Vienna and Brinktown parishes, concelebrating and Deacon Doug Hemke assisting. The people then convened in the parish hall for a fish fry and fellowship. (91 photos)
