The 107-year-old St. Rose of Lima Church in Novinger will host a sung High Mass to mark the occasion of the 30th consecutive monthly Traditional Latin Mass at 4 p.m. on Sunday, June 10.

Father Kevin Drew, a priest of the Diocese of Kansas City-St. Joseph, will be the celebrant.

Father Robert Fromageot of the Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter, who is stationed in Maple Hill, Kansas, will lead the Sacred Music for a Missa Canta (Sung Mass).

“It’s a bit of a milestone for us,” said David Barton, a member of the Latin Mass Society of Northeast Missouri (LMS). “For two and a half years, every month, Catholics from all over northeast Missouri (and beyond) have traveled to tiny St. Rose of Lima to assist at this beautiful, reverent Holy Mass.”

He noted that it is mostly young people and young families who come to the Mass.

As usual, the Holy Rosary is prayed 20 minutes before Mass, and a reception in St. Rose Parish Hall will follow.

All are welcome. Novinger is just west of Kirksville on Highway 6.
